PL/Parrot : One Virtual Machine (in your PostgreSQL database) To Rule Them All

Howdy,

I am pleased to announce a new mailing list for PL/Parrot [0]
development and news. PL/Parrot aims to add PosgreSQL Languages (PL's)
for languages that Parrot [1] speaks. At first, this will be PIR
(Parrot Intermediate Representation) [2]. Once PIR is well supported,
then languages implemented on top of Parrot, we call them HLL's (High
Level Languages), will be worked on.

If you know about writing PL's and/or Parrot, we would greatly
appreciate your help! Commit bits to the github repo are given out
freely to those that want to contribute. Documentation, tests and
examples need to be written, not just code. Everybody can help
somehow, if you are interested. We need a logo too!

At first this mailing list will mostly be developer-centric, and as we
get closer to functioning code that is usable by mere mortals, we will
spin off a user-centric mailing list.

Most of the PL/Parrot devs hang out in #plparrot on irc.freenode.net,
so if you want to learn more or ask questions, come on by. We don't
bite.

Duke
