To be pedantic, I have consistently (to my knowledge) used Unicode
0x2126 (Ohm Sign) and not Unicode 0x3a9 (Greek Capital Letter Omega)
as you have done. I fully agree that it would only be proper to
pronounce 0x3a9 as "omega",
