Native PBCs

I have updated PBC_COMPAT for the release but I am not able to
generate the native PBCs on my platform. Is there anybody out there on
32-bit linux who is able to generate these for me?

Also, NEWS and PLATFORMS need last-minute updating, if anybody has
reports for those.

I am going to be putting out the release before noon EST, so any help
and updates before then would be much appreciated!
