I'm reading "Working with parrot" -> running parrot -> FAQ:

"What is Parrot?
Wrong FAQ, start with the Parrot FAQ first. Then come back here because 
this is where the fun is"
Now where is that Parrot FAQ?

"PIR is an intermediate language that compiles either directly to Parrot 
Byte code."

Interesting document! The examples are quite similar to the ones in the 
introduction page.
