Apparently not.  No one has commented directly on this ticket in seven
months.  It's not clear to me what exactly the issue is that needs to be
resolved in the OS PMC.

Whiteknight mentioned this RT in his blog on July 17 2009:

"Are you a Win32 person? There are lots of tickets around that deal with
some of the idiosyncracies of that platform. Ticket #39853 specifically
deals with the way forward slashes and backslashes are used in Windows,
and how they should be standarized in file names."

I recommend first getting some clarity as to where this ticket stands,
then, if still unresolved, moving it into Trac.
