Should the Owner of a Trac Ticket Automatically Get Email Updates on Posts?

I'm reporting what I think is unexpected behavior with our Trac ticket 
system.

It is clear that if I am the Reporter on a Trac ticket -- i.e., if I 
open the ticket -- I get email updates on all subsequent posts to the 
TT.  Example:  https://trac.parrot.org/parrot/ticket/1132

It is also clear that if I explicitly add myself as a 'cc' to a ticket I 
own, I get email updates on all subsequent posts.  Example: 
https://trac.parrot.org/parrot/ticket/1105, where I am the owner but not 
the original reporter.

But I would have expected that if I take over ownership of a TT someone 
else originally reported, I would get email updates on all subsequent 
posts *regardless* of whether I explicitly cc-ed myself on the TT.  This 
does not appear to be the case.  Example: 
https://trac.parrot.org/parrot/ticket/423, originally reported by Andy 
D, ownership taken by me tonight.  I have not yet added myself as a 'cc' 
to that ticket.  Other than parrot-ticket-digest, I did not receive an 
email version of Andy's subsequent post to that ticket.

This behavior seems suboptimal.  Anyone else agree?
