parrot_debugger

Last night I was looking to update the parrot_debugger utility to use
the new embed_api2 branch stuff, but was running into problems.
Somebody mentioned that the parrot_debugger program didn't really
work, wasn't really the right solution anyway, and that all it's tests
were commented out.
Does parrot_debugger work? Is it useful to anybody right now?
If not, do we want to try to fix it in place or do we want to blow it
away and maybe start on a replacement program? Something that is less
focused on PIR/PASM and is more useful to HLLs (through annotations
and things) would probably be better in general, though the ability to
debug non-annotated PIR/PASM is obviously still valuable while those
languages are still so heavily used.
I do not think I am going to update parrot_debugger to use the new API
before we start talking about a merger of the embed_api2 branch. If we
decide to keep the debugger as is, we can update it later.
Thanks,
