Docs for the new embed API's functions

Hi,

embed_api2 branch is still failing some code standards tests basically we're
missing documentation for most of the new functions created in this effort.
I'm in the process of writing such documentation, I think I'll have it later
this afternoon, but I want to avoid a possible duplicate effort.

So, Is there anybody else trying to do the same thing?
