Parrot + R

I should note that this is really, really experimental, sort of
proof-of-concept. It isn't an effort intended to duplicate or replace
the R Project... for reasons (beyond the scope of this email) that
would be almost impossible. A minimalist implementation would be
pretty cool, though, and a sense of humor is essential.

I'll be working fairly hard on this over the next month and will
likely post "how-to" question on the Parrot users list. Please
forgive me in advance for 'stupid questions' -- but this may be
necessary. I find myself spinning my wheels on little things, and
even if I vaguely remember something in the docs I can't always find
it or it isn't quite what I need.

Like: in NQP, how do I find the length of @anarray ? Does the answer
to this require knowledge of the type of the array (fixed versus
resizable, integer versus float)?

Many thanks, and I hope at least having an additional person trying to
build a language will provide some helpful feedback.
