GSOC Proposals Need Reviews and Mentors

I've gone through the list of GSOC proposals and weeded out the ones
that are not serious. We have 6 decent-looking proposals from 5
students left for consideration.

1) If you are not yet signed up to be a mentor and you would like to
be one, please do so soon.
2) If you have not yet already, please look over the proposals and
review them. There's a simple star rating system on the proposals. 5
stars is best, 1 star is worst. These ratings aren't used by google
to assign slots, but they can help us make hard decisions if we get
too few slots.
3) If you find a proposal you might be interested in mentoring, there
is a button on the side to indicate that. I need to assign mentors in
a week or two (I need to double-check the deadlines), and I can only
assign from the list of mentors who have clicked those buttons. If you
find multiple proposals you like, mark yourself as a possible mentor
for all of them (I won't assign any mentor more than one student
unless specifically requested).

All 5 of the proposals we've received do look like they have the
potential for positive outcomes. Of course, to be accepted we need to
have mentors assigned and get enough slots from Google.

If you aren't able to be the primary mentor for a project, let me know
and we can assign co-mentors or backup mentors, or any other
arrangement that works for everybody.

Thanks,
