How good is ncurse like interface in parrot?

If I remember, while java supports GUI well, their cli interface support is
not as good. To use java ncurse-like lib called  charva you need to install
a java native interface that reduce crossplatform ability.

How well does parrot supports rich cli interface. Also does it have
standard cross-platform GUI?
