t/pmc/filehandle.t t/pmc/io.t: test failures in master

See attachment, which was run at commit 
5ea2552ff45bd4f7feee65660c01e770530a496e.

Today I observed one failure in each of these two files.  The error 
output is from Linux/i386 with an all-g++ build, but I got the same 
failures on the same box with an all-gcc build and on Darwin/x86_64.
