t/pmc/filehandle.t t/pmc/io.t: test failures in master

Jim,

I appreciate your testing.
I got the same failures during my (last-minute) testing for the release of 5.2.0.

Everyone,
I am delaying the release by 24 hours, and coordinating with gerd on fixing
or reverting the premature merge from io-refactor, which is the source of
the failures in t/pmc/io.t and t/pmc/filehandle.t.
